Worcester Greenstar EA Fault Repair

The Brief

The customer's Worcester Greenstar 30CDi was showing an EA fault code, which on a Worcester boiler means it has tried to light and failed to detect a flame.

What We Did

Our repair included:

• Fault finding: we confirmed the EA ignition fault.
• Heat exchanger strip clean: the heat exchanger was stripped down and cleaned to clear the build-up.
• New electrodes: the old ignition and flame-sensing electrodes were scaled, so we replaced them with a new set.
• Reassembly and testing: the boiler was rebuilt and tested.

The Result

With the heat exchanger strip-cleaned and new electrodes fitted, the boiler was back up and running. An annual service helps catch this kind of build-up before it leads to a breakdown.
